Question for the not quite masses.

current song: Mindless Self Indulgence "Golden I"

Yes. I still know this journal exists. It's more I don't know what to put in here really. That and religious/spiritual/metaphysical stuff has taken a major backseat in my life in favor of practical ways of putting my life in order. Outside of the occasional conversation with my car, metaphyics is definitely not a big thing on my mind. And yes, cars can talk even if it's through vrooms.

I dunno. Discussion topic. I know there are some techomantic types who read this. How do you justify your love of technology with the ecological devistation that post modern society creates?

Me? I don't really compromise well about it. It's hard because I know the society I live in is riding on the backs of modern nations use of the last oil reserves and a vast population of near poverish people working in factories in Beijing. However, at least with the "everything I use was made by some migrant worker in China", I know that historically economic status has always been a wide based pyramid, and that these migrant workers are actually in fact getting a better life in these factories than they would normally have in the countryside. As for environmental issue, I still struggle with that because goddamn do I love my computer and my car and all my tech gadgets.

What do you think? Environment vs Technology? Death is not an option. (ok, maybe it is)

Alright. Here's some practice hiragana.

1. おはよう ohayoo. The u makes the o elongated.
2. ありがとう arigatoo.
3. すし sushi.
4. つなみ tsunami.
5. にほん nihon
6. とうきょう tookyoo. lots of o elongation. Yes it's Tokyo, the capital.
7. さしみ sashimi.
8. せんせい sensei. Sometimes pronounciation removes the i at the end, but really the i is there.
9. ともだち tomodachi.
10. でんわ denwa.
11. なまえ namae.
12. わたし watashi.
13. ぼく boku.
14. かんこく kankoku.
15. ちゅうこく chuukoku.
16. はい hai.
17. えいご eigo.
18. どうも doomo.
19. おさけ osake.
20. みず mizu.

I'll add the definitions onto each as you can learn them.

1. Thank the person that tagged you

Thanks [info]per_akh!

2. List 5 random/strange/weird things about you

--Polishing metal, particularly silver, is very theraputic. Rather nice considering I've grown up around antiques. Copper is also pretty satisfying. It shines up so well.
--I enjoy making friends with unique people, especially if they're extremely multifacited.
--I wasn't allowed to play with video games as a child. Computers on the other hand I had free reign at, so I knew a dos prompt by the time I was 4.
--I had a really really really hard time figuring out what to do with my life. I still have trouble deciding what to do. I particularly wonder if I should have gone into medicine and I'm pondering going to night school for it once I get settled at a job.
--I can't handle alcohol. Most of it stems from a metabolic disorder I have that damages my liver, but I get drunk off of half a bottle of beer or a quarter of a slightly stronger drink. Don't expect me to ever ever do shots. I'll be on the floor.

3. Tagging:

Uh....if you don't have it feel free to use it.

Thanks to everyone that made my visit down to the Twins totally awesome. So many good memories were made and here's to many more to come.

I'll post in this journal more often soon enough. It's rather meant to be my "weird" journal. Non-kosher. Yeah, no yeast.

Aaahh the joys of the internet

More English lessons by Japanese people (Though it seems Ayaka-sensei has spent some time in the US)

I'm so hungry I could eat a horse
Long time no see
To kill two birds with one stone
Cheer up!
It's muggy. That sucks.
What's your blood type
Stay by me
I want to go shopping tomorrow

Feel free to pause and try to read. Exact translations are provided by the show itself.

This is what I get for surfing instead of studying for my exam.

These are pages from a Japanese book teaching English to little FMA fans. For you however there's katakana to be read! It's cheezy and Bandai fishing for cash, but anything to make learning more fun I suppose.

Ed helps teach elemental names
Al helps teach animal names
Winry helps teach attire ^_^

Enjoy~

I would like to note I made an edit on the Practice for Lesson 2. If you're just learning Katakana, then you're allowed to use the chart. Just learning how to use it and learning how to guess for the meanings are good enough for now.

However if you already know Katakana, too bad. No chart for you. Haha.

Just a reminder that I still haven't gotten any guesses in for the practice I gave. I'm not going to keep typing up lessons with out at least a TRY.

Ok, that's all.
